Astrology 2016
Chinese Astrology, Fire MonkeyYear 2015
The Fire Monkey year arrives on 4 February 2016 according to the Chinese solar calendar. However, Chinese New year will be celebrated widely on February the 8th this year as the lunar year begins on this date. Monkey is one of the 12 Animal signs in the astrological system known as the “Four Pillars of Destiny”. It is so named because it consists of four columns, containing data for the hour, day, month and year of birth. Each column contains two Chinese characters, a total of eight. For this reason it is sometimes called Ba Zi (bā zì, 八字), eight characters in Chinese.
The relationships of these 12 animals, based on the two cycles of the five elements in yin and yang forms with each other and (the two elements that come with each new year and) the 10 year luck cycles take the central place in this astrological system.
Just examining the two elements of the year pillar in a 4 Pillars chart and comparing these two with the elements that come with the new year, without going in any great depth can give us a general idea of what to expect in regards to the new year. Let us just do that here; look at which animal signs Monkey favours and which encounters might spell challenge.
COMBINATION SIGNS with GRAND DUKE MONKEY
Snake, Rat and Dragon are the signs that have a combination relationship with Monkey. People born in the years shown below will generally have a pleasant year ahead due to this special harmonious relationship throughout 2016. Now, let’s take a look at the auxcillary stars visiting these three signs in 2016.
SNAKE: 1941-1953-1965-1977-1989-2001-2013…
Snake seems to be one of the luckiest signs this year; Fortune Virtue, Heavenly Virtue Star, Prosperity Star and Grand Duke Combination Star all promise an amazing year ahead.
The presence of Fortune Virtue Star signals being surrounded by helpful people. This wonderful star also gives protection from all other harmful stars. One of the other attributes of Fortune Virtue is the availability of plenty of good food. So, watch out if you do not want to pile on the pounds…
Prosperity Star and Heavenly Virtue Star will surely bring career success and promotions to the fully committed and hard working Snakes.
There are a few challenging stars as well, Crossing Sha, Curled Tongue and Drapes Star to name a few. However, their impact will be minimised by the brillance of the above mentioned auspicious stars. Still, it is highly recommended to be extra careful regarding relationships, both in business and personal life, avoiding people that engage in gossip and spreading rumours.
RAT: 1948-1960-1972-1984-1996-2008…
Rat is also another lucky sign in 2016. The presence of Three Stages Star brings carrier advancement along with good connections and excellent communication skills. Employed Rats are very likely to get bigger pay cheques this year. There will be higher profits in store for the self employed as well.
There is yet another indication about improved finances, with the aid of this auspicious star; Golden Lock. Gloden Lock Star is usually associated with rewards and bonuses. For the self employed though, it will bring opportunities for smart investments that could be rather lucrative both this year and the years to come.
Another brilliant star helping Rat this year is the General Star. This star represents help from powerful and generous individuals, menthors whose advice could be priceless both in personal life and in business.
There is a few inauspicious stars as well, of course. Amongst these, Flying Charm Star, Year Charm and Officer Charm Star should not be taken lightly as they represent potential legal complications. Rats are highly recommenden to be careful with their dealings with people, both in personal and business environments and read carefully the small print before they sign papers and documents.
Overall, 2016 can be a very rewarding year for Rats.
DRAGON: 1940-1952-1964-1976-1988-2000-2012…
The best star visiting Dragon this year is the Elegant Seal. This is an academic star indicating great potential for learning, intelligence. and creativity. It will be easy to become an authority in one’s chosen field with the assistence of this wonderfull star. Naturally, it also brings along carrier advancements.
There is also a cluster of challenging stars awaiting Dragons this year. White Tiger Star, Yellow Flag star and Flying Chaste Star signal that care should be taken concerning physical health. Accidents and injuries are likely under the influence of these three stars. Sky Worrier Star may challenge relationships by causing misunderstandings.
Just by focusing on the opportunities presented by the Elegant Seal Star and by being cautious regarding personal relationships, investments and health, Dragons can look forward to a brilliant year ahead.
SIGN IN “CLASH” WITH MONKEY:
TIGER: 1950-1962-1974-1986-1998-2010…
People born in the year of the Tiger are in a clash, or conflict, with Monkey. Being in clash is not always a bad thing as is commonly believed. This could suggest many changes and much travelling throughout the year for people born in a Tiger year. If you are planning to move house or travel a great deal, now is the perfect time to do so. Fulfilling a clash will naturally avert potential turbulence as a clash sometimes implies turbulence. It is recommended that all those born in the Tiger year (or Tiger day/month) wear a Snake pendant to protect themselves from likely accidents. One might ask how a pendant can protect one from accidents. Elemental influences in nature, represented by the 12 animal signs, prefer to have the good company of friendly forces rather than conflict. Who would chose to have a fight instead of the company of a good friend?
So, Monkey pairing himself with his good friend Snake, will ignore altogether the troublesome encounter with Tiger. This is how it works in a nut-shell. We also should not forget the power of our intention. Any precaution taken as a symbolic act with the intention of averting any kind of danger will have a positive effect in our conscious experience, by at least making us more vigilant. So, Tiger, make sure to wear your Snake pendant.
This is equally important for those born on a Tiger day, as a clash in the House of Spouse might indicate changes in your marital status. I’ve seen many people getting married or having problems with their partners when this house is in conflict, as this usually indicate “change”. It can also mean that your husband/wife will be travelling a great deal this year. Even if you’re single, expecting to get married this year, still wear the Snake pendant as protection from unpleasant surprises.
Those born in the Tiger month, 4 February- 6 March , will most definitely feel the difference for better or worse. As Monkey clashes with Tiger in the month pillar, it activates it. This also implies changes regarding career and/or your parents.
Sky Relief Star and Relief God Star are the two auspicious auxcillary stars visiting Tiger this year. The presence of Sky Relief Star signals a strong supportive network provided by helpful people and menthors. Actually, both these stars have the quality to transform all negativity in one’s life into positive outcomes. They also provide strong protection against all the inauspicious stars.
Another wonderful star visiting Tiger this year is the Sky Horse Star. With the influence of this beneficial star, Tigers will travel far and wide that could boost both their career and earnings.
OFFENDING THE GRAND DUKE TAI SUI
MONKEY: 1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004…
People born in the year of Monkey are said to be offending the Grand Duke Jupiter this year. This is not just a Chinese superstition, as I first thought when I started studying the Four Pillars. My observations soon taught me that the Grand Duke, Tai Sui, can create serious obstacles, if one is not careful. Anyone born in a Monkey year should at least wear a Snake pendant for protection.
It is also a good idea to stay in maintenance mode, so to speak, and not to start big projects and taking risks. The Grand Duke Tai Sui’s image is often seen in Buddhist and Taoist temples as a big angry man and it seems that he doesn’t appreciate sharing his territory with others. On the second day of the New Year, many Chinese go to temples and pray in front of the image of the current Grand Duke and ask for his protection. Rituals for pacifying Tai Sui are also performed on the first and the 15th day of each lunar month for further protection.
There are considered to be 60 heavenly generals who assist the Jade Emperor in taking care of the world of the mortals and each of them takes turn to be in charge for a year. Due to most of them having a military background, they are normally known as the Military Generals, or as the Cycle Gods. During the year of Fire Monkey, Great General Guan Zhong is on duty. The last time he was here was during the previous Fire Monkey year, 1956, and he isn’t coming back again before 2076.
Another auxcillary Star in Monkey, apart from the notorious Grand Duke Star as we discussed earlier, is the Sword Edge Star Monkeys should be carefull about. This star could potentially create health issues, most possibly caused by stress. Therefore, Monkeys should really take the time to rest finding the perfect balance between hard work and play time.
FIRE PENALTY: SNAKE, MONKEY, TIGER
Monkey also brings the fire penalty to those with Snake and Tiger in their four pillars. Fire penalties can be good or bad, depending on how favourable the fire element is to the person and where it is located in the four pillars; the hour, the day, the month or the year pillar. For example, a person with Tiger in the day pillar, born in 1989 (Snake year) might get married or perhaps gets divorced in 2016, all depending on favourability of the fire element. Either way the house of spouse (the day pillar) will be effected.
Below, I am listing the auxcillary stars visiting the remaining signs, starting with Rooster. You may have these signs in hour, day and month pillars as well as the year pillars. They will have different impact on your life experiences throughout the year, depending on which pillar they are found. Usualy, the year pillar represents your social circle and friends, month pillar carrier and parents, day pillar spouse and home front, hour pillar, children, projects and investments.
ROOSTER: 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005…
The fortune of Rooster is splendid this year as the Great Sun Star, Tai Yang is in this sign all through the Monkey year. As a result, all Roosters can expect good news concerning their careers, promotions for the employed and new possibilities opening up for the self employed. Roosters are also likely to be surrounded by capable people supporting them whenever and wherever they need help as the Great Sun is one of the most powerful Nobleman stars.
There are a few areas Roosters should exert caution, though. Their love life might be under strain somehow. If they are alreadyin a relationship, it will be very important to keep good communication lines with their partners to avoid complications caused by Salty Pool Star. If single Roosters meet new love interests, they should really try to find out about the person as much as possible, before they start a new relationship. However, it seems there is little chance for new meaninful relationships for Roosters this year.
DOG: 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006…This might be a somehow challenging year for Dogs as there aren’t any good stars visiting this year. In spide of the cluster of negative stars, Dogs can still have a good and productive year by making the best of what they’ve got, not taking risks in career-love-finance and remembering that facing difficulties and transforming them will only make them stronger. This might be a good year to stay in the maintenence mode and not start important new projects.
It will be a big bonus if Dogs have a lucky sign such as Rabbit, Snake, Rooster or Pig in hour, day and/or month pillars that will help to soften the tricky Dog luck through the Monkey year.
PIG: 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007….
There are many auspicious stars visiting Pig in 2016. The most important one is the Great Moon Star, Tai Yin that is one of the four Nobleman stars. With the presence of this powerful star, wealth and prosperity improve and oftentimes all help and support needed for overcoming difficulties is offered by female family members, female elders and/or female VIPs.
Earth Relief is yet another helpful star that has the power to transform all negative beginnings into positive outcomes, often times by the help of supportive people in family and friends circles. With the aid of these two powerful stars, there will be an exciting and fruitful year ahead for most Pigs.
The stars Pigs should watch out for in 2016 is the Six Harms Star that could spell lonliness and isolation. In a similar way, the Solitary Star might also cause feeling of alianation with loved ones. Death God Star is yet another tricky one that could have a similar effects on relationships in general.
OX: 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009….
Month Virtue Star is visiting Ox this year. This auspicious star gives all the help needed for success and protection from the ill effects of negative stars. The celebration star Sky Happiness Star also graces Ox in 2016. All kinds of celebrations such as weddings, engagements, births, graduations are all likely with the influence of this star. The presence of Pulling Saddle Star might indicate work or carrier change. There is also a cluster of challenging stars as well of course, such as Death Charm Star, Lesser Consumer Star and Yin Sha Star. Overall though Ox will have a fulfilling year ahead.
RABBIT: 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011…
One of the four most auspicious stars, Dragon Virtue is in Rabbit this year. The benefits of this magnificent star are far-reaching with the power of transforming all negative situations into positive ones. The presence of Emperor Star signals status, power and improved social status. You will feel that everything you do turns out right with the help of this wonderful star. Jade Hall Star is the extra bonus for Rabbit this year. With the help of this amazing star Rabbits will excel in their careers and their wealth luck could improve as a result. So, Rabbits being one of the most lucky signs in 2016 will have a lot to look forward to this year.
HORSE: 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014…
Probably the best news for Horse this year is the Eight Seats Star visiting. This star not only enhances learning, it also assists personal development through deepening ones understanding in one’s chosen field. There is also a strong chance that life long endeavours come into fruitition by the help of this auspicious star.
Eight Seats Star also ensures meeting the right people and making the right connections that will lead one to success.
Sky Dog and Funeral Guest Star are the less favourable stars in Horse this year. However it may not be as bad as it sounds. It may perhaps suggest potential trouble if one takes part in funerals and wakes. If possible it is best to stay away, just in case.
A wonderful and fulfilling year awaits Horse in 2016.
GOAT: 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015…
Goat is blessed with excellent relationships this year, favouring romance in particular by the Red Matchmaker Star. There will be plenty opportunities this year meeting eligable partners for single Goats. This star also makes possible broadening of one’s social networks that could actually benefit all aspects of their life.
Sickness Charm Star brings a warning about possible health. It is best to attend without delay if and when heath issues appear. Overall, there will be plenty of opportunities for a successful and fulfilling year ahead for Goat.
